The mill in Ringelheim was first mentioned in 1460. Since 1626 the mill was run by the monks in Ringelheim and changed owners many times until Stefan Engelke, whose family runs a mill in the twelfth generation, took over the mill in 1989. He proceeded with continuous enlargements to its present grinding capacity. Within the last 25 years the grinding capacity was multiplied by ten In 2003, the new mill at the city-port in Gelsenkirchen started operation with a grinding capacity of 400 tons per day.
