It all started 4 generations ago, on Beacon Fell, when Duillia Singleton made award winning cheese on the family farm. Today Grandma Singleton’s great grand-daughter, Tilly Carefoot, continues the family tradition, making cheese to the recipes Duillia used all those years ago. Making cheese “Grandma’s Way” has been the founding principle over all these generations, and it has led to a continuous stream of top awards through the years, not only for the products made at Grandma Singletons, but also for the innovation and service provided. The range of cheese made has expanded, to over 30 different types; incorporating many flavours that Grandma would not have been familiar with in her days – Wensleydale with Cranberry, Cheddar with Jalapeno and Garlic ... and even Apple Pie Cheese! The markets we serve have expanded from the local open markets, to supplying a variety of customers in the UK and in over 30 countries covering 4 continents.
