Aromatic Rice

The “aromatic” qualities of rice –more commonly called “Perfumed” – belong to the Indica species, characterized by a particulary long grain. The Basmati quality comes from India and Pakistan, while the Thai Fragrant – or Jasmine – comes from Thailand.
The massive expansion of oriental cuisine, where these qualities of rice are largely used, together with the intense scent they emanate during cooking, are spreading their consumption and increasing appreciation in Europe too.
