The word Basmati comes from two ancient Persian terms - Bas (perfume) and Mati (soil). It is one of the finest qualities of rice in the world. The region between India and Pakistan where this quality comes from gives it its extraordinary smell, mainly due to the particular climate and land. A white long grain, with unique taste and aroma, easy to digest and with high nutritional value. The Basmati rice that we process comes from Punjab and Indian Pamir, in the distant Himalayan hills, and it is still cultivated and hand-picked according to age-old traditions.
