Biodegradable and Compostable Film - Bio based film are derived entirely from renewable sources or just enclude small percentage of blendings.Even in this case they are considered and classified as re-newable and biodegradable. Normally they are Pla , starch based or cellulose, or also special structures with blendings are offered now on the market. They can be available in different thickness and width and can be printed up to 8 coulours. They can be divided in two main groups: bio based film for fresh products ( i.e. vegetables, fruits) and these are normally treated antifog or macroperforated. Barrier film : suitable for cheese, ham.meat, dry fruits, pasta and coffee. Bio based barrier film are very innovative as they can offer good barrier performances and could offer good shelf-life and Map or special processing.
