Pompeo Farchioni wants to update olive growing on the basis of the company claim: “the future is in our roots”. The goal is that of a modern olive growing based on Italian-only cultivars and capable of adapting to current styles of cultivation and taste. At the same time, however, it is necessary to nourish our roots starting from those olive trees that have the characteristics of heroic cultivation. Present throughout Italy, but today often in a state of neglect becau- se there are no longer the old owners who cultivated them or because it is too expensive to continue production. We are talking about centuries-old olive trees that have an enormous landscape value and olive trees grown on slopes greater than 30% or on terraces or in small islands or above 500 meters. From these dierent realities Farchioni will produce self-certified oils as a heroic olive grove. With the help of consumers, our history can be safeguarded. The idea of recovering the heroic olive groves comes from the ancient olive grove below the Montefalco viewpoint. An abandoned forest that Pompeo Farchioni has decided to recover and put back into production by starting a project of social and environmental sustainability.
