Cloves
In grains or ground, cloves originate from Madagascar, obtained from the dried flower buds of the Syzygium Aromaticum tree. Reddish-brown in colour, with a strong and pronounced aroma, it brings a strong and spicy flavour to any recipe, from stews to traditional Christmas biscuits. It is recommended to be used in moderation as its flavour is pronounced. As a curiosity, it is used as a remedy to combat halitosis (bad breath) and mouth infections by chewing it directly.
