Herbs and Spices: Fresh herbs & spices are subject to a prompt market delivery for which we provide a special service in residue monitoring. Within 24 hours we analyse your product on the presence of nitrate and within 48 hours we’ll do the same on pesticides (insecticides, fungicides and biocides). We also analyse dried herbs and spices on heavy metals, PAH’s and mycotoxins. Colourful spices are sometimes artificially dyed with the so-called ‘azo dyes’, which are either illegal (such as Sudan Red) or must be clearly mentioned on the label.
