Kirriemuir Gingerbread
€ Core price
Our famous Kirriemuir Gingerbread was orignally created in the town of Kirriemuir by a baker named Walter Burnett.
The town itself has it's own legend, as it's best known as the birthplace of the beloved author and playwright, J. M. Barrie. Barrie wrote throughout his life, though he is, of course, best known for Peter Pan. One of Barrie's earlier books was a collection of his Mother's stories about the village, which he renamed Thrums. The iconic gingerbread packaging features a picture of a house in Kirriemuir near where Barrie was born. "A Window in Thrums" was the name of that early book.
