Organic coconut oil
Organic coconut oil extra virgin
The coconut oil comes from the dried meat of the coconut. The fresh coconuts are peeled, sliced and immediately dried in ovens at low temperature. The dry coco rasp is mechanical, cold pressed and filtered to extra virgin coconut oil. This is a special press method and is used to preserve the taste and the beautiful white colour. The nutritional values remain as intact as possible.
Organic coconut oil refined
Organic refined coconut oil is obtained from crude organic coconut oil and comes from copra. (copra = dried meat, or kernel of the coconut is used to extract the crude coconut oil).
The coconuts are dried in the oven at the farm. The drying process takes 6-10 hours. The coconut oil is refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) by a physical refining method.
Coconut oil is considered, a healthy fat with the following advantages to our health:
• High in lauric acid which is considered beneficial for HDL cholesterol and immune system.
• Contains medium chain triglycerides (MCT) which is considered beneficial for a higher energy level.
• More stable structure than olive oil making it more resistant to heating.
