Poppy-seed oil

Poppy-seeds, which have the sci­en­tific name »papaver som­niferum«, are among the oldest cul­ti­vated plants in Europe. In ancient times they were known pri­marily for the oil obtained from their pressed seeds. Today, how­ever, that once-famous oil has become really rare.

BIO PLANÈTE poppy-seed oil comes from the seeds of ripe, care­fully-cleaned poppy seeds. This spe­cial oil gets its spe­cial taste which, in com­par­ison to other kinds of poppy, has a more inten­sive aroma, through the use of blue poppy (Meconopsis betoni­ci­folia).
