Quinoa

Description: Quinoa is consumed since prehispanic times, valued by FAO and recommended by NASA as a basic food due to its high nutritional content. Quinoa is recognized to be a food boasting high quality proteins and an ideal balance of essential aminoacids, plus basic fatty acids. It contains vitamin A: carotene, Vitamin B: riboflavin, niacin, thiamine, and vitamin C: ascorbic acid. It is rich in minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium. Benefits: Quinoa has a high nutritional value of protein, which varies between 13.81% and 21.9%, depending on the variety. Because of its high content of essential amino acids, quinoa is considered as the only natural food that provides all the essential amino acids according to standards established by the FAO.
