Our succinct but carefully selected range of risotto rices includes a Double Milled Carnaroli, versatile Arborio and Vialone Nano, a popular choice for risotto or soups.
Arborio rice is classed as riso superfino and is one of the ‘Ferraris of rices’. The main characteristic of risotto rice is its ability to absorb up to three times its weight in water during the cooking process, while still retaining a bite in the centre of the grain. Harvested between September and October, it is completely dried and the grains are sorted, washed and husked, before being polished to produce a perfect white grain.
Our arborio grains take about 18 to 20 minutes to cook, and are perfect for risotti, salads and arancini – deep fried rice balls filled with meat sauce and cheese.
