The juniper is a shrub of medium height of the coniferous plants belonging to the Cupressaceae family. Juniper is native to a broad area of the Northern hemisphere, from the shores of the Atlantic to the tropical regions of Africa and the mountain areas of Central America. It shows its maximum diversity in the regions of Mediterranean climate.
