Jamaica Pepper is a tree of the Myrtaceae family that can reach 10 metres in height. This tree has a smooth grey bark and berry-like fruits. It is native to Central America and the Caribbean, and its fruits and seeds are stimulating, carminative, aromatic and substitutes of common black pepper. Jamaica pepper is also known as allspice, myrtle pepper or new spice. Its flavour reminds one of a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. It is perfect to give your drink a hot, spicy flavour. “The Gin Box” Jamaica Pepper is aimed at harmonizing the drink known as Gin Tonic. To this end it should be put in the glass used to prepare the drink. It is not meant to be ingested.
