Established in 1975, Kruidvat is a retail chain owned by AS Watson Group, part of the Hong Kong-based multinational CK Hutchison Holdings Limited (CK Hutchison). It is headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium.

It operates 289 stores in Belgium as well as an online store.     

In the financial year 2021, Kruidvat achieved a turnover of €56.7 million. 

The business offers a range of products in the following categories:   

• Personal care: perfumes, hair care, baby care etc.
• Sweet grocery: honey, chocolate, cookies, etc.
• Savory grocery: biscuits and chips. 
• Dairy: milk.
• Household: toilet paper, kitchen napkins, cleaning products, etc.
• Drinks: coffee and tea. 

Its portfolio consists of brands such as: 

• Nivea: body cream, face cream, shower gel, etc.
• Fa: bubble baths, deodorants, gels, etc.
• Mon cheri: a range of chocolate.

Moreover, the company also offers products under its private brand label ‘Kruidvat’: milk, shower gel, face cream, etc.

By the end of 2022, the company aims to open 300 stores across Belgium. 

Regarding its logistics solutions, its products are delivered by PostNL, a mail and e-commerce corporation which provides universal delivery.
