Established in 1976, Metro Greece is a retailer and wholesaler in the Greek market. Its headquarters is based in Athens, Metamorfosi, Greece. It is the 6th largest supermarket chain in Greece based on its market share. 

Today, the business operates 50 Metro Cash & Carry stores and 225 My Market stores across the country. 

In the financial year 2021, Metro Greece achieved a turnover of €1.3 billion and currently employs over 10,600  people which makes it one of the largest employers in Greece. 

 It offers a variety of products under different categories such as: 

• Sweet grocery: cookies, chocolate, waffles, etc.
• Savory grocery: rice, pasta, bread, etc.
• Fresh and chilled: vegetables, fruits, fish, etc.
• Frozen: seafood, peas, meat, etc.
• Dairy: cheese, milk, butter, etc.
• Drinks: juice, water, fizzy drinks, etc.
• Household: kitchen napkins, toilet paper, detergents, etc.
• Personal care: shampoo, facewash, conditioner, etc.
• Wine and spirits: beer, wine, liqueur, etc. 

Their private brand label products consists of:

• My quisto: yogurts, stuffed cookies, tuna fish, etc. 
• My kouzina: sugar milk, eggs, frozen vegetables, etc.
• Feel good: nail polishes, hairspray, napkins, etc.

It also offers special products such as: 

• Organic products: rice, bread, biscuits, etc.
• Plant-based products: vegetables, nuts, fruits, etc. 
• Gluten-free products: pasta, bread, pasties, etc. 

The products are certified Food Safety Management System (HACCP) and ESYD accredited certification body TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS.
