Firmly rooted in regional produce
In 1930, Jean Guyader created 'La Salaison GUYADER' in Landrevarzec. Since then, the business has been passed on to his children and then to his grandson, thus preserving expertise and maintaining the unique attachment to their native area.
Since 1993, when Christian Guyader bought the business from his mother, the company has expanded into many European markets including Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Holland and Austria...
Without moving from its home town the reputation of Guyader has extended far beyond Brittany and now more than 10% of its turnover is generated abroad.
All 4 generations of entrepreneurs have left their mark on a brand whose history is deeply rooted in the region.
From meat to fish
Although the original profession of the Guyader Group is traditionally that of a meat processor, in 1989 the company diversified into seafood products, which now account for the whole of the production at the Landrévarzec site. However, the original meat products have not been abandoned as in 1998 the group bought Gueguen Meat Processors at Trégourez.
The story continues...
The year 2000 was marked by the creation of the cannery, GROIX & NATURE, on the Isle of Groix. This traditional concern not only uses recipes which are part of the island's heritage, it is also representative of our policy of local sustainable development.
In 2004 a new entity was launched: « EURO SLICE » based at Kervignac near Lorient (56), which slices and packs cooked products. It was joined in 2006 by EUROCAKE which is devoted entirely to the production of savoury cakes and delicatessen products for the "Guyader » label.
In 2007, the group took over Elquin, based in Quintin (22) and merged its meat activity with that of Guéguen.
In 2007 the firm also extended its range of prime products with the purchase of Wilmar (Nantes) which specialises in the smoking of top-quality fish.
Late 2008: the Guyader group opened a logistics centre at Trégourez to consolidate customer service and improve the carbon footprint of the group, as part of its policy for sustainable development.
