The subtle and characteristic taste of Gruyère AOP is attributed to high-quality raw milk, which comes from cows fed on grass in summer and hay in winter, and to the expertise of milk producers, master cheese-makers and affineurs (maturers).
Each piece is systematically identified both through the number of the cheese wheel and of the cheese dairy. The manufacturing date and month also appear on the wheel. These markings are made with casein, the main protein in cheese. Once again, without any additives or artificial flavors.
The Gruyère AOP label and the number of the production site appear on the heel of each wheel of Gruyère AOP: a suitable way to prevent fraudulent production and to guarantee its authenticity.

A family business born with export vocation.
In the year 1988 Maria Paz Hurtado started to buy and sell olives in one of her rooms in her little apartment in Malaga, equipped just with a teletext machine, followed by a fax, a typewriter, a big dose of illusion and with a husband, who believed her projects to be more than just possible. Working under these conditions she succeeded to bill until 1992 more than 500 million of the old "Pesetas" (today around 3 million Euros), without any producing infrastructure of their own, until the couple decided in 1992 to risk everything they had achieved until that moment (which certainly was not much) and to buy an old packaging factory, which was closed since 1987 and half destroyed to ruins. With an enormous effort, a total of 4 mortgages on the building and their own home, with interests of more than 18% and a lot of illusion they continued their project - but this time with their own production and packaging line.
Our maximum aim is to guarantee the control of the product from its origins until it finally ends on the table of the final consumer.

Introduction
Since many brand lines are available only as clearance stock, secondary brands provide the UK discount sector with core FMCG products. Asvina’s principle focus is to develop our own secondary and private label brands with competitive margins throughout the year. The emphasis is on keen prices, value-added packaging, and an ability to source supply at very short notice. A further business objective is trading in clearance lines of major branded manufacturers.
We also have, and are continuously building, strategic brand partnerships with an objective to have exclusive distribution rights for the UK and Ireland. This will allow us to supply products which do not feature in our own brand range.
The Directors and Senior Management have been involved with all the major discount sectors, mainly as Chief buyers, understanding and developing their buying strategies. They have an extremely good relationship with these companies at Board and Senior Management level.

All our products are sourced from highly accredited manufacturers with BRC / IFS certification.
