We provide raw material to converters to make hot and cold cups, salad bowls, etc. without a plastic film barrier. We use the aqueous dispersion method to achieve great barrier properties alongside with heat sealability.
In practice this means, that beverage cups made from this material do not require a "Plastic in Product" EU marking as per the SUP directive.

ALKOvin™ offers a perfect combination of closed-cell polyethylene foam and high-quality barrier films for protecting wine and preserving its aroma – guaranteeing the purity of taste!
With a complete and varied range of sealing liners for aluminium caps, Meyer Seals® can meet the most diverse requirements for wine storage and maturation processes.
Some varieties of our ALKOvin product include patented materials which protect wine and other alcoholic beverages against deterioration of its flavor and smell, which are known as "reductive flavour" and "post bottling off-flavour".
ALKOzell™ is the Meyer Seals® brand name for one-piece sealing liners made from closed-cell expanded polyethylene (EPE) or polypropylene (EPP) foam. When inserted into aluminium or plastic closures, ALKOzell™ provides a secure, durable seal for containers made from all types of materials – simply closed.
Meyer Seals® products are available in a range of thicknesses and densities, and can be laminated with any of our wide range of barrier and protective films, offering the brand owners the right solution for all container contents – SEALutions.
ALKOzell™ is widely used within the food, beverage, agricultural chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmetic market sectors. It can be supplied as pre-cut discs, as rings or on reels.
ALKOzell™ mono is a fully recyclable sealing liner. The resealable part of the sealing liner and the closure is designed and tailored to each other, forming a single unit that can be reliably detected during the materials recovery cycle and then recycled without loss of quality. ALKOzell™ mono is certified by Interseroh, the leading European environmental and ancillary services provider. Together with our customers, we make a significant contribution to sustainable management of precious post-consumer resources. ALKOzell™ bio is produced from renewable raw materials, with very little use of raw materials from fossil fuel sources. Bearing the “I'm green™” quality mark, the polyethylene (PE) granulates used to produce these sealing liners is derived from sugar cane. ALKOzell™ refeed - in line with the high ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) PLUS standard, this product uses only granulate from recycled material streams (on a mass balance basis). This avoids additional CO2 emissions from fossil fuels.
ALKOsafe™ is Meyer Seals® range of two-piece, wax-laminated liners for induction sealing for both plastic and glass containers. Products such as agricultural chemicals, engine oils, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and foodstuffs can now be securely sealed and protected from contamination and product leakage.
The two-piece laminated structure is securely held together throughout the supply chain and separates upon demand, into a robust hermetic seal sealed to the land-area of the container and a re-seal that is firmly located into the base of the closure when activated by the induction sealing process. The reseal part can be either board or ALKOzell™ foam, as required, and provides a reliable re-seal even after removal of the hermetic seal.
ALKOsafe™ is available as pre-cut discs or in a reel format.
The composition of ALKOseal™ glasSecure™ with either an EPE or EPP secondary re-seal liner is the world’s first fully recognised recyclable induction liner, with the secondary EPE or EPP being fully compatible with the closure material construction, by marrying up these plastics compatibilities between the secondary re-seal liner and the closure resulting in a mono material that negates the need for postconsumer waste segregation. The primary induction seal that is removed by the consumer, being aluminium foil that can be recycled alongside aluminium beverage cans, which has been approved by the European interseroh zero waste solutions.
Meyer Seals® ALKOseal™ range of liners are two-piece and are to be sealed using induction sealing, in order to achieve a clean, hermetic seal on containers. This range of liners protect high-quality speciality coffees, spreads, and all powdered filling contents against undesirable environmental influences before and after being opened for the first time.
ALKOseal™ sealing liners rotate freely behind a retention feature inserted in the bottom of a screw closure and can be used for all container materials.
With this two-piece sealing liner, the reseal part made of ALKOzell™ foam or virgin board remains in the lid after first opening and protects the filling substance after resealing.
ALKOseal™ is available as pre-cut discs or in slit width tape.
With ALKOseal™ pierce 'n' peel™, Meyer Seals® has complemented the ALKOseal™ product range with a sealing liner with innovative opening features. With ALKOseal™ pierce 'n' peel™, the sealing liner perforation - which can be individually designed – that ensures an intuitive and extremely convenient opening process. The unique opening laser perforation can be adapted in size and shape according to the application requirements, so that for example a dosing opening is possible for measured dispensing of the filling contents. This means that both brand owners and consumers enjoy complete flexibility in handling. The induction sealing of aggressive products containing oil and grease in glass containers used to pose a major challenge. One of the key strengths of the ALKOflex™ product range is its high degree of user-friendliness, thanks to the smooth peel and ease of removal. Well-known brand owners of condiments, beverages, herbs, spices, and a variety of other products value the reliable protection afforded by this hermetic sealing liner. Both plastic and glass containers utilise ALKOflex™ peelable sealing solutions.
ALKOflex™ tab is a new hermetic sealing liner developed by Meyer Seals® that offers the maximum in user-friendliness. It is equipped with a large grab tab that can be customised in terms of its size, colour, and shape, making it safe, simple, and convenient to use. What makes ALKOflex™ tab different from other induction liners is the large tab as it does not contain any aluminium. During the induction process, the high-frequency current is not deflected from the remaining circular aluminium structure of the sealing insert. Therefore, prevents the creation of "hot" and "cold" spots during the sealing process that can lead to negating the hermetic seal and allowing leakers. Due to no aluminium in the tab, no heat is generated in the tab, so it cannot be secondarily adhered to the closures when it is opened and the large tab can be easily grasped directly. The outstanding ergonomics of ALKOflex™ tab have been confirmed by extensive qualitative market research with end consumers across all age groups. Meyer Seals® ALKOflex™ tab is even easy for children to use, as well as individuals with limited hand mobility and the differentiated colour assists consumers with visual impairments. ALKObond™ is the name of Meyer Seals® family of wet glued two-piece wax-laminated sealing liners secured by gluing to the land-area of the container aperture – sealed in factory freshness.
ALKObond™ sealing liners are suitable for all commonly used container materials and offer reliable protection for dry powdered beverages, spreads or high-fat content foodstuffs.
The secondary re-seal is joined to the primary seal by a special point waxing process. When the container is first opened, the secondary re-seal separates from the primary seal, breaking the wax joins. This causes a characteristic crackling sound. The reseal part remains firmly in the cap and protects the container contents and its precious ingredients, even after removal of the primary seal, until the product is fully consumed.
Meyer Seals® ALKOglue™ is a two-piece sealing liner from the glue family. It seals foodstuff containers extremely reliably.
ALKOglue™ is wet glued applied to the containers land area and is suitable for sealing both plastic and glass containers. The glue layer effectively compensates for any minor unevenness in the containers land area.
Meyer Seals® ALKOglue™ sealing liners provide protection to coffees, spreads, cooking stock, herbs, and spices, and other powdered contents.
ALKOglue™ consists of two pieces. Depending on the application, the reseal part is made of a speciality board or laminated ALKOzell™ foam, bonded via a polyolefin peelable film to the aluminium foil. When opened, the secondary re-seal part separates from the foil and remains in the closure. It serves as a permanent sealing element for re-closing and provides additional protection to guarantee the correct separation of the secondary carrier material and sealing liner when opening for the first time. The sealing liner must be inserted in such a way that it is able to turn freely behind a retention feature located in the closure.
ALKOglue™ is available as pre-cut discs or as slit-width tape.
ALKOvent™ belongs to the product group of technical seals. The container is reliably sealed while allowing the filling substance to "breathe" - offering customized venting solutions for every day.
ALKOvent™ is used with agrochemicals, household cleaners and food supplements.
ALKOvent™ provides a bidirectional gas exchange through a liquid-tight but gas-permeable membrane. This effectively prevents any "shrinkage" or “panelling” of the container due to a vacuum or excessive overpressure.
Meyer Seals® offers ALKOsafe™, ALKOflex™ and ALKOzell™ product groups as vent™ versions. The vent™ membrane is applied in-house at Meyer Seals®. The ALKOvent™ sealing liner stands for quality and reliability, with a high degree of functionality.
In the ALKOvent™ technical family of seals, a membrane is applied in-house at Meyer Seals®. Deformed containers on retail shelves diminish consumer confidence in the quality of the product, meaning the product unfortunately becomes a shelf warmer. With ALKOvent™ this problem is a thing of the past. The use of ALKOvent™ induction sealing liners eliminates the need for pressure-stable, thick-walled, and consequently heavy containers and closures. Both the container and the closure thicknesses can be significantly reduced, meaning the use of less materials and the conservation of valuable resources. ALKOvent™ induction sealing liner makes a significant contribution to long-term sustainable solution and value creation.
