At the Hobbit, as we like to keep pace with current developments in a responsible manner, we look to remain faithful to our principles and our mission, namely to produce fair and entirely organic-vegetarian food. The familiar Hobbit logo, based on the hobbit house in its idyllic green setting, has been further stylised. Whilst the basic round shape remains, the green lettering now merges with earthen colours. The range has posed quite a challenge: over the last dozen years or so, we have sold our own products as well as those by Food For Freedom. The principles underlying both ranges are the same, except that products at Food For Freedom are also macrobiotic. This has at least been a distinguishing feature for customers who specifically look for macrobiotic products. In recent years, whilst we have noticed that the macrobiotic movement is trying to find its way, the need for a specific brand has not been as significant. Indeed, the interpretation of the concept has become highly individual, and it is essential that the products are pure. The organic and pure, vegetarian nature of the products is key, which is the case for both brands. We asked ourselves the question whether we offer our customers added value by keeping on both brands, and actually we were told that what the customer really wants is a joint brand with a strong foothold in the market. So should we then drop one of the brands? That would leave us with a bad feeling, not least because we try to remain faithful to both traditions. After much consideration, we decided to opt for combining both ranges under The Hobbit brand, and to add Food For Freedom's guiding principle to the brand. So we can now move on, backed by the strength of both ranges, with a view to making them even stronger by intertwining them. After all, one plus one makes three.

The production premises are located on Sicily. Production certified IFS and BRC (with maximum score). The supply of raw materials is managed directly: the company has three large farming areas and over the years has consolidated partnerships with local farmers who have converted their farms to organic production. Over 10.000 sqm of plant is equipped with equipment for the analysis, shelling, selection, toasting, processing and packaging of the products, in modified atmospheres or vacuum packed: thanks to a flexible packaging system it is possible to produce packaging of extremely variable weight (from 100g, to a ton). A laser sorting machine, combined with manual visual controls, ensures the absence of foreign bodies, with a guaranteed percentage absence of foreign bodies equal to 99.999%. Every production line is monitored and traced in every process phase: mechanical visual controls, laser controls, controls using metal detectors, mechanical weight controls, manual visual controls: Damiano products are the quality choice for business partners and a guarantee of authenticity and safety for consumers.

The Graindorge family tradition began in 1910 with Eugène Graindorge, farmer turned cheese maker and affineur of his town’s namesake cheese, Livarot. In 1958, the tradition was passed down to his son Bernard who expanded the business by expanding the area of milk collection and introducing Paris to the cheeses of E. Graindorge. Thierry, Bernard’s son took over in 1970 and continued to expand the business by expanding the line to include other traditional Normand cheeses such as Camembert de Normandie, Pont L’Eveque and Neufchatel. Today, Graindorge is still based in the traditional Normand town of Livarot. Family tradition and terroir intersect with modern dairy science to bring Graindorge’s cheeses to the United States market.

Kourellas S.A. company was established in 1992, after the modification of the pre-existed company which was active in the same field since 1960. Company’s activity involves milk processing and production of cheese products, salads and yogurt, foodstuffs production and the development of agricultural economy with progressive applications.
Company’s main products are feta cheese, kefalograviera cheese, kaseri cheese, goat cheese, cheese with garlic and pepper, cheese with olive and chili, mpatzios cheese, manouri cheese and the local cheese with protected designation of origin (p.d.o.) anevato, which has been established by Kourellas S.A. Products are transported to Greece and Europe.
In 1996, Kourellas S.A. is the first company that starts the production of organic dairy products with the commercial signature “BIOPAN” and with Naturland’s German specifications, since there were no regulations concerning the animal organic products. Since then it builds an important for the organic agriculture, complete, self-supplied dairy production system with the application of laws Ε.Ε. 2092/91 and 1804/99. Today the company collaborates with 90 selected and self-conscious organic agricultural-farming households and cultivates 20 km2 of land with breadstuffs and other various livestock feed, in order to self –sypply with Greek foodstuff the 20000 and more bio-fed sheeps and goats.

Mlinotest’s tradition dates back to 1867, when Wenzel Jochmann set up a mill on the River Hubelj in Ajdovščina. It was a foundation for further development of activities, which continue at today’s Mlinotest, one of Slovenia’s major food processing companies.

Viciunai Groupe: established in 1991. The company is one of the largest and economically powerful producers of surimi products and fish in Europe. The group’s product range contains more than three thousand different items sold under brand names Viči, Esva, Columbus and private label.
Productions of: Surimi, Salmon (smoked and portions), Pelagic, White fish (portion controlled), Breaded Fish, Gyoza, Pancakes and Pizza.
In 2013 we started also an Agro division. Here we have 1,2 million hens with a daily output of 900.000 till 1.000.000 shell eggs. Part is sold as shell eggs to regional retailers. Other part is been further processed to liquid egg, egg powder and boiled and peeled eggs. There is 7000 hectare land where we grow our own grains to feed the hens. Own slaughterhouse where we slaughter our own hens wiith a cooking station to produce cooked hen meat. Also a breading and a bread factory.
