First, as a wholesaler for "Swabian specialties", the present company was established on 1.4.1968 by Erwin Settele senior in Neu-Ulm / Illerbrücke. In the first period Erwin Settele senior supplied in one-man operation butchers shops, canteens, hotels and restaurants with dumplings, mayonnaise, and various gourmet salads. Within a short time the customers were already cared for with 3 refrigerated vehicles. The clientele was gradually expanded and soon the first supermarkets could be served with dumplings. The range has been steadily expanded with the available in the market "fresh produce". However, as the demand for these specialties was growing and there was no flexible manufacturer that could supply the wholesale of Erwin Settele senior with the demand on the market "specialties", was started in 1982 with its own fresh production. Noodles and dumplings were so its origin in a former butcher's shop in Oberdischingen. The range grew rapidly. Were supplemented steamed dumplings, soup ingredients, spaetzle, Krautschupfnudeln and much more, which was freshly produced daily.

In March 2005, Zomar S.A., a Chełm-based joint-stock company with entirely Polish capital, purchased Agram, being a liquidated enterprise, from the official receiver. Afterwards, intensive measures were undertaken with a view to rebuilding the newly purchased and strongly decapitalised plant. On 30 October 2008, an independent manufacturing plant was established from the Zomar S.A. structure and became operative as Agram S. A.
At present, Agram S.A. consists of two manufacturing plants, one located in Lublin on Mełgiewska Street, and the other in Motycz, at a distance of 8 km from Lublin.
The main plant on Mełgiewska Street features a storage area for 12 thousand tonnes and provides a cooling capacity of approx. 12 tonnes per hour. This is ensured by two new freezing tunnels, each with a capacity of 5 tonnes per hour, one of which was supplied by high-class manufacturer, Frigoscandia.
The plant located in Motycz is equipped with two modernised freezing tunnels with a total capacity of 5 tonnes per hour. It also features a 2400-tonne storage area in the cooling chambers. The larger plant on Mełgiewska Street was fully decapitalised and required higher investment outlays. It was, therefore, the main focus of the modernisation programme which was developed. Since the purchase date, Agram has invested a total sum of PLN 40 million in reconstructing the Lublin and Motycz plants.
The following major investment projects have been implemented
- Constructing a new entrance hall, comprising a raw materials warehouse;
- Modernising the ammonia refrigeration installation;
- Reconstructing the main production hall;
- Constructing new social facilities for the staff;
- Modernising two water conditioning stations;
- Modernising two boiler rooms, in Lublin and Motycz;
- Purchasing two new freezing tunnels and modernising three others;
- Purchasing new technological lines, along with sorting equipment and machinery;
- Purchasing and assembling a production line for root vegetables and beans, with a capacity of 5 tonnes per hour;
- Purchasing new laser sorting equipment by BEST;
- Purchasing new optical sorting equipment by SORTEX;
- Purchasing a modern packing line by BOSCH, including peripheral devices.
Considering the impressive scale of invested resources and investment work, the conclusion can be drawn that the former Agram Cooling Plant has actually paved the way for constructing a modern production plant which is now able to successfully compete on the European and global markets. It is worth stressing that the thorough modernisation and rebuilding of the plant was effected with no adverse effect on the product range or production continuity. In a few years, the plant has acquired nearly 132 thousand tonnes of fruit and vegetables, remunerating the supplying farmers with PLN 164 million in total. Since 2005, we have constantly increased the annual levels of raw material procurement and the manufacture of frozen products. We buy and freeze a variety of soft fruits (such as strawberries, black and red currants, cherries, raspberries, blackberries and plums). Customers may also purchase the following vegetables from the Lublin brand: bean, cauliflower, broccoli, carrot, leek, parsley, celery, tomato, pepper and cabbage. Around 80 percent of our output is intended for exports, mainly to the EU and eastern countries (Russia and the Baltic States). The Company has obtained the HACCP, BRC, IFS and ISO 22000 certificates, a kosher certificate, an ecological certificate, and the GOST certificate that allows the exporting of frozen products to Russia. It reflects the Agram products’ conformity with the requirements imposed by the Russian entities in charge of product quality inspections.
Having acquired the Agram brand from the official receiver in 2005, the company has used its best endeavours to rebuild its previous position in frozen products on the Polish retail market.

Sofrimar was established in 1979 to harness the abundant supply of shellfish and whitefish landed at Kilmore Quay with a view to supplying key European markets, particularly France. The name itself is an acronym, standing for Societe France Irlande de Maree.
Sofrimar has continued to invest in its state of the art process facilities, in particular, its innovative lobster holding facility. This has allowed the company to expand rapidly and it now supplies all the key European markets and is a major exporter to Asia. The success of this has been acknowledged and has led to Sofrimar being awarded “Seafood Exporter of the Year” by the Irish Exporters Association in 2007 and 2011- an award dedicated to “a wonderful example of an exceptional seafood company”.

Pandalus was established in 1969 as a prawn processing.
Back then, the company was owned by Swedish fishermen and Danish stakeholders, and the production process was based on Swedish fishing boats’ landings of prawns in the Port of Hanstholm, Denmark.

A sausage making shop “Konsums” was set up in Atlasa Street, Riga, in 1922. The date is also considered as the company’s „Rīgas Miesnieks” year of foundation. A few years later the company was converted into the central union and meet factory and started to export bacon to Sweden.
In the course of the war the company manufactured products for military purposes: canned food, semi-dry and cold-smoked sausages with a long shelf life.
The company “Riga meat and cannery” was started up on the basis of the nationalized enterprise in 1944.
In the post-war period the plant produced canned food, meat dumplings, smoked meat products and variety of sausages. The volume of production increased continuously. The range of adjacent products included mugs, ash trays, pencil holders, various mascots and souvenirs.
The construction of the new facility designed according to the highest standards and requirements was decided in 1988.

The roots of the Recla family date back to 1920. The sausage production tradition has been handed down from generation to generation. The picture dates back to the second half of the 19th century. It shows the first establishment, which was then named "Gebrüder Recla" (Recla Brothers).After the war the family moved to Val Venosta. The first export business was established in Silandro by today's owners Gino and Franz in 1985.In 1995 another production site was opened in Ciardes, and the assortment was extended with sausages, cooked ham and cooked sausages. The headquarters in Silandro were considerably enlarged in 2000. The third construction phase was completed in 2010, and the packaging and dispatch areas were newly structured and re-organised.
