Concession for the production and sales of a "well-made pasta" as well as the right to fine any violator. We could talk to you at length about the moment in the early 1900s, shortly after the construction of the second manufacturing plant, when the Garofalo brothers decided to divide the firm and founded Lucio Garofalo Inc and Alfonso Garofalo Inc, providing so two possible paths for the development of a company that started two centuries earlier. We could boast of the fact that in the 1920s in Italy, Garofalo Pasta had become pasta quality par excellence, so that Mr. Garofalo proudly claimed that books and magazines referred to "high- quality Pasta, as Garofalo-type". We could move you with stories like the one of Lucia, the Somali housekeeper of the Garofalo house, that "invested" her savings in pasta to send back to Africa, a continent in which at the times the Garofalo Santa Lucia brand had become synonymous with pasta, both in taste and in the colors of the pack, red and blue. We could go on listing all the certificates accumulated over time, from being the first pasta factory certified ISO 9001, or all of the technologies that were used in our plants to transform the best semolina into the best pasta possible. However, we like to think that the story is all in the pasta that we produce: in the knowledge and in the constant search for quality and taste that everyone, from the workers to the CEO, contributes to this project that continues generation after generation. And what Garofalo Pasta is today, with its new cuts launched in 2002 wrapped in a transparent packaging, is the result of the story we narrate you every day through what we do, and that you can read every day in the pasta you eat.

We are a co-operative of associates: farmers, workers and supporters who believe in the Campo project. This project was launched at the end of the seventies at Isola del Piano, a small town in the countryside in the Region Marche (1978). There was no talk of organic at the time, but we were aware of having inherited a precious wealth of land and knowledge from past generations and we had already noted that the use of chemicals in the fields was destroying the future and this wealth. What are basic products? They are all the products we use on a daily basis, stacked on the shelves in every kitchen, because they are essential to our diet. For example pasta, tomato, pulses and condiments is a basic food in the Mediterranean diet. We are proud to contribute to the improvement of the quality of food that several people consume every day: we deal in basic foodstuffs by choice and lifestyle. We believe that food that is free of harmful substances should be a universal right accessible to everyone. This forms part of our company's mission. We have contributed to the development of ecological farming for over thirty years. One of the challenges facing us over the years has been to show that it is possible to supply basic food at affordable prices even with organic farming; this is what we have managed to do, first with pasta, then tomato and now with pulses. Our second challenge was to extend organic food beyond the limits of a closed niche; we have thus stood up to the comparison with traditional mass produced goods; our prices are comparable with those of chemically farmed products; the cost of our products is based on affordable farming and processing methods and we consider that the future will be better for everyone if we can reduce every source of waste. The origins of Quely biscuits are believed to be linked to sailing companies, who needed to stock up on a nutritious food product that could be preserved for long periods of time and was easy to store. References to the use of biscuits on oceanic voyages can be found in literary works, particularly in English literature, from as far back as the 18th century.Can Guixe was one oven that produced these biscuits by hand in Mallorca in the 19th century and it can still been seen in Inca today. In 1934 Jaime Doménech Borrás purchased a small plot of land opposite Inca railway station, and the following year constructed the factory's first building. He also ordered all of the necessary equipment, although this could not be delivered due to the outbreak of the Civil War in 1936. However, the manufacturer of the machinery honoured the original order price and supplied the equipment in 1940. It was some of the most modern equipment in Spain at the time, as it used a continuous production line to create the María biscuit. The stonework oven was built during the '40s amidst the many problems caused by the second world war.

From the Black Forest to the world
The family owned business from Offenburg in South of Germany, next to the Black Forest has been an active and successful company in the health food sector for 50 years. The company´s founder Dr. med. Johann Georg Schnitzer, at that time dentist, developed a programme for wholesome food based on cereals and raw food that provide the human organism with vital nutrients from natural sources. From this period the Schnitzer´s Household Grain Mills were occured and still exist today in many households to grind fresh wholemeal flour.
Whole-food nutrition made easy
At the beginning of the 1980s independent artisan bakeries were trained by Schnitzer in wholefood baking skills and whole-food nutrition were made available for the humanity. In the 1990s, a range of packaged wholesome baked goods was created by the newly established Schnitzer Food division.
Competence and innovation combined with pleasure
Since 2001 Schnitzer produces gluten-free organic baked goods under the highest standards with regard to the purity of the raw materials and the hygiene in the manufacturing process. In 2006 the company introduced the first gluten-free beer based on millet to the market. After a comprehensive investment in modern production facilities combined with the first IFS Food certification in 2016, Schnitzer is now one of the largest manufacturers of organic gluten-free baked goods. In 2019 Schnitzer will present its products in a new packaging, which is influenced by the modern blogger-style.

NABA Feinkost GmbH is a leading manufacturer of processed organic foods in the convenience and delicatessen sector, based in Gierstädt, Thuringia. As a medium-sized company with its roots in agriculture and gastronomy, it is our aim to produce products that focus on the well-being of people and nature. This is why we became enthusiastic about organic products at an early stage. NABA was founded at the beginning of the 90s and a little later we produced the first organic spreads.
Today we employ more than 150 employees and produce many well-known (trade) brands for the organic specialist trade and food retail trade with modern production facilities on an area of 5000 m². For a long time, we were almost exclusively a producer of private label products, but we now have two own brands: Nabio and Reichenhof. Last but not least, we work together with small manufacturer brands and food start-ups to support entrepreneurship and anticipate innovations.

Our company was established in 1989 as a family business. Nowadays, as a joint-stock company with 100% Polish capital, we are definitely a leader on the market of healthy food, producing crisp bread, rice cakes, rice and grits (source: AC Nielsen). Almost every second pack of rice bought in Poland comes from our company. SONKO brand under which we have been selling our products for years, enjoys a lot of trust among consumers, which was confirmed by choosing our company as the most often recommended food brand and one of the 18 most powerful Polish brands in 2006 (source: The Ranking of the Most Valuable Polish Brands published in as an addition to “Rzeczpospolita” on 28th Nov. 2006). In 1997 we opened a modern rice and grits packaging plant near Wrocław, and in Bielany Wrocławskie in 2008 we opened another production plant of almost 20.000 square meters, which is now the largest and the most modern plant in Europe, producing rice cakes and light crisp bread. All our products are produced in accordance with the requirements of international standards confirmed by ISO 9001:2008, HACCP, IFS and BRC certificates. Our systematic quality control together with the choice of the best components was appreciated by consumers by awarding our products with numerous prizes and awards. Our current offer includes a wide range of rice, grits, rice cakes, rice cakes in chocolate coating, light crisp bread, matzo, rice snacks and rusks. The products are distributed in all leading supermarket chains in Poland, as well as exported.

MELVIT S.A. has started its activity in 1998. We specialize in production, distribution and packing of loose articles, such as groats, rice, flakes, cereals and flours. We offer our products using two brands - MELVIT and Szczytno Premium. Both brands packing process takes place in our manufacture in Ostroleka, where central warehouses and offices are also situated. In the year 2004 has ended the construction of new manufacture in Ostroleka. It’s equipped with modern, automatic production lines and high - storage warehouses which undoubtedly contributed to increase productivity and highest quality of offered products. Therefore we decided to transfer packing of Szczytno brand products to new production lines in Ostroleka. Taking care of high quality of products offered – we implemented Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points - HACCP system. Beyond doubts, one of our trumps is a fact that we possess groats manufacture situated in Szczytno. This manufacture deals with processing raw material into ready-to-eat product, which quality was appreciate at domestic and international fairs more than once. Nowadays we’re leading producer of buckwheat groats, barley groats and flakes in our country, which traditions reaches 1960’s. The farm of Montalto exists for over a century. Always owned by the family Gomes Pereira, all the successive generations that took charge of it succeeded in introducing benefits all over the farm, which contributed a lot to increase its value. The farm of Montalto was founded in the second half of the nineteenth century (1880) when Mariano Gomes Pereira Baptista (1858 – 1932) started buying, little by little, small stripes of land in order to enlarge the inheritance from his father Joaquim Gomes (+1889). Mariano Gomes was born in Corredoura - Vila Nova de Ourém and got married in Lisboa, where he owned a small shop. Later on, following an appeal from his heart and taking an opportunity, he left Lisboa behind and returned to his origins in the country, where he settled definitively. At those days the existing house was built according to a very representative Portuguese country style, being surrounded in the northern side by the road connecting Olival with Vila Nova de Ourém. Facing a wide scenery, the inhabited floor was just above the ground floor which was meant to lodge the agricultural implements and the stock raising tools. According to the customs of those days the house was humbly whitewashed but it had a wide dimension quite uncommon in the region. A flight of stairs in the façade allowed the access to a platform in an opened balcony where the main door seemed to invite the visitors inside. On the top of it, a simple enamelled door plate with the inscription “Montalto Vila Gomes” could be observed.
