In October 2003, the local management of the Beerse factory took over the plant in a Management Buy Out, under the impulse of Thomas Becker, who had run the production plant since 1983. The company officially started as Glacio NV as from January 1st, 2004. Unfortunately, Thomas Becker inexpectedly died in November 2004. The new management focuses on its core competencies even more: ice cream specialities, designed for the gastronomy and door-to-door market segments.

The history of Semenzato begins in 1890 in Zelarino, on the outskirts of Venice, where Angelo started to make bread using a wood-fired oven. In 2002, the artisanal family business became an automated bread manufacturing company. RO.MAR. s.r.l. was established by Silvestro, the father, and by his sons and daughter Roberto, Marco and Vania Semenzato. All the activities involved in the production of tramezzini bread and sliced bread are performed in our 10000 m2 facility in Olmo Martellago (VE), which boasts one of the first natural leavening system in Italy.

The assembly of machinery includes the latest technologies in producing smoked fish products. All contributing to securing a high and consistent product quality and meeting the customers’ requests. Vega uses traditional production methods, for instance a stone kiln which gives the fish a unique smoked aroma. We also use the well-known and acknowledged dry salting that gives the smoked products a firmer consistency. All these elements combine to create a very flexible production process.

Wingert Foods is the German leading producer for ambient tray meals and bowls. The latest innovation is "to-go" salads that need no refrigeration.

Wingert Foods GmbH was founded in July 2002. In July 2003 the company took over the ready-meal business and production site from Norda-Lysell GmbH & Co. Montana Azul is a family business founded by Victor Arias and wife Maria Benavides. The company specializes in producing, growing and exporting high-added value foods.
