In the year of the fiftieth death anniversary of the greatest classical composer of the Americas, Casa Valduga selected the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to compose a symphony of aromas and flavors in honor of the celebrated maestro Heitor Villa-Lobos. 

Originally named Santa Bárbara de Encruzilhada, the first pasture settlements appeared in the Southern region of the Serra do Sudeste comprising a vanguard of missionaries and Indians. Here, they fought bravely alongside imperial guards to protect the province from Spanish invasion.

In 1875, during the Imperial period when the first Valduga set foot on Brazilian soil, the monarchy declared Leopoldina the most important road in what is today known as the Vale dos Vinhedos. The Casa Valduga winery is located on this historic road. In 1972, the company paid tribute to the Princess with its first labeled wine, which would carry her name. Forty years on, the winery extends this honor not only to the Princess, but to the entire period of bravery of the first immigrants.

The Casa Valduga Sur Lie is a sparkling in its most crude form, without dégorgement and consequently, without dosage post-degorgement of expedition liquor. Because it does not go through this thinning, the autolysis of the yeasts occurs while the bottle remains closed. This is the great differential of this specimen, it continues aging for an indeterminate time and the decision to interrupt this process is unique and exclusive, which will decide the time of maturation of the drink, to appreciate it according to your preference.

Ruby is not just another pink gin. We thought a long time about jumping on this train, but by looking at the market, we discovered something was missing. Every redish fruit has been used in the meantime to make fruity, often too sweet, pink gin. Meyer’s Gin Ruby is juniper driven with very subtile floral notes: hibiscus and rose. Not too much, just enough to make this gin extremely enjoyable.

Our Natural Orancello is based upon organic South African oranges and supporting spices. A wonderful classic innovatively interpreted. In the same handcrafted manner as our Natural Limoncello, the zest is carefully removed and macerated. This gentle digestif carries the sweet orange taste and goes a step further than the classic Limoncello tale.

Our Malbec is typical from the region where it is produced, with strong body and intense, fruity and smooth

flavor. For seven months, 30% of the first cut goes through the French oak barrel, giving the wine complex aromas of fruits and

flowers, and rounding its tannins.

Best served with different kinds of meat, pasta, stews and hard strong cheese.

Our Cabernet Franc is produced with grapes from trellis and vines. Depending on the time of harvest and the

exposure to light, this Cabernet can show more or less concentration of pyrazines, which are the chemicals in charge of giving this

wine aroma of pepper, red peppers, etc. The same variety in two different vine conduction systems gives harmony to the final product.

You can smell aromas of herbs, pepper, dry tomatoes, but also quince cheese and ripe fruits.

This wine with great body and volume agrees perfectly with red meat as well as pasta.

Our Merlot expresses a wild character elegantly and subtly. It has an intense ruby colour, with aromas of blackberries,

ripe strawberries and tobacco.

Aged for 9 months in first-use French oak barrels.

Grenache is a variety that has to be perfectly handled from the vineyard to get a great final product, and in this

process you can see that.

Before we produce our red Grenache, we harvest half of the grape bunches to make the rosé. By doing this, the rest get to mature better

and faster, since the plant now divides what it absorbs from the ground between less bunches. As a result, we obtain higher volumes of

alcohol and more intense wines.

In this case, it is also co fermented with the Syrah and Mourvedre varieties, giving very bright colors to wines, such as blue-violet or

cherry red.

It has a great body and it is easy to drink, with flavors of raspberry, strawberry and candied aromas. Ideal to pair any kind of food.

Our Pinot Gris has a bright yellow colorr and a great body, with the perfect balance between sweetness and

acidity, and aromas that remind you of white fruits.

Its flavor is not bitter, but fresh. It is a quite neutral wine. Opposite to Torrentés or Sauvignon Blanc wines, it has no strong aromas. It

is not sweet, there is no added or fermented sugar in it, and the acidity is neutral.

Best served cold and ideal when pairing appetizers, white meat or fish.

Alcohol: 13% by vol.

Our Chardonnay presents a greenish yellow color. You can smell aromas of white peaches, pineapple and other

tropical fruits.

Due to its 14% alcohol by vol., its great body with a balance between sweetness and acidity makes it a perfect match for cheese, pasta

and, of course, fish and shellfish.

Grenache/Syrah/Cabernet Franc/Pinot Gris: Garnacha (or Grenache in French) is one of the most planted

varieties in the world. It comes from Spain, but it can also be found in the south of France. It is a very common variety in these two

countries, that is why they produce rosé wines the most.

It takes longer to age, but it can reach a high concentration of alcohol, and for that, one has to know how to control its production.

This wine is made with a pellicular maceration of the Grenache, Cabernet Franc and Syrah varieties. The maceration lasts several

hours. They are harvested sooner than they would be for a red wine.

The idea is that our rosé does not exceed 13.5% alcohol by vol., for it to be a wine easy to drink with a natural acidity, but also with an

oiliness that can be appreciated in the mouth.

Once we get the expected color, the juice from each of these varieties will ferment at very low temperatures, separated from their skin.

After the fermentation, the color turns orange like wines from Cotes du Rhone. In other parts of the world, this orange color is known

as “orange wine” or “onion-skin wine.”

This is a very versatile wine, perfect to pair fish, shellfish, white or red meat, and pasta. It is also ideal to drink on its own.

Our sparkling ANDELUZ is produced using the Champenoise method. The varieties we use are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay

and Pinot Gris. They go through fermentation all together. The percentage of each variety depends on the year. Once the bottles finish

fermenting, they spend at least 6 months in contact with the lees at a low controlled temperature. When it is time to do the disgorging, the

bottles are placed in desks leaving lees collected in the neck of the bottle. Then, when the bottle opens due to the pressure, the lees come out,

leaving the liquid inside of the bottle completely clean. After that, expedition liqueur is added to make it extra brut, which means the

bottle ends up having 9.5% g/l sugar. Expedition liqueur is prepared with the sparkling wine and sugar, the concentration of sugar will

Terroir

Exposed to the east/south-east, these vines can be found in Nalles, between 330 and 400 metres above sea level. The ground is a 150-metre deep alluvial fan, carved out by the Sirmian and Nalles stream, consisting of 80% limestone gravel and 20% porphyry rubble.

Climate

From continental to sub-Mediterranean, the climate is characterised by warm days and cool nights.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. Afterwards, the clarified must is fermented at a low temperature for around three weeks in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is aged on the lees for a further seven months.

The vineyards are situated in Magrè, at the foot of a gentle slope and at an altitude of between 220 and 350 metres with a southern/south-eastern exposure. The white chalky gravel soils have a high content of humus.

The Mediterranean climate is characterised by hot summers and mild winters, as well as the Ora, a warm afternoon wind that comes from Lake Garda to the south.

The grapes are harvested by hand. The clarified must is fermented for around three weeks in 30 hl wooden barrels, after which the young wine is aged on the lees for a further eight months.

The vineyards are situated in Magrè, around to the Baron Salvadori estate, on a gentle slope at an altitude of between 220 and 350 metres with a southern/south-eastern exposure. The white chalky gravel soils contain well-ventilated humus.

The Mediterranean climate is characterised by hot summers and mild winters, as well as the Ora, a warm afternoon wind that comes from Lake Garda to the south.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. After the whole cluster pressing, the must is left to settle at a cooler temperature for 30 hours. Fermentation then takes places in small oak barrels. After malolactic fermentation, the young wine is aged on the fine lees for 12 months and then in the bottle for further two years.
