Sarchio was founded in 1982 with the aim of producing natural handmade products from the local tradition but without the use of any chemical additive, dye or preservative so to protect both human health and environment without sacrificing their excellent taste. Aware since the beginning of the importance of an environment friendly agriculture system to produce healthier and safer foods, Sarchio was able to release the first products by Agro-Biological productions and certified by CCPB (inspection and certification body for organic products) even before 1991, year in which the E.E.C. Regulation n° 2092/91 was published to supply the regulatory groundwork for the spread of organic agriculture. 1991 represented the turning point also for Sarchio that decided to dedicate itself purely to the production of Organic food. The great success of such decision led the company to inaugurate the new production plant in 2004 (another new production plant will follow in 2017) and to be certified by the Ministry of health as producer of Gluten Free products too in 2006. Sarchio was the very first company (and still is one of the few) to be able to range products that are both Organic & Gluten free. As in its early days, Sarchio keeps developing products that are pure and healthy, but with the addition of being directed also to people suffering for food intolerances. Sarchio’ s philosophy has then remined unchanged: to develop and produce products respectful of both the environment and the consumers’ health in their being pure, healthy, and suitable for people suffering of intolerances.

In 1955, Lucien PETIT, a pastry cook at la Trinité sur Mer, had the idea to produce biscuits rolled by hand, called “cigarettes”. Within 10 years, this production went from 80 kg to 600 kg per day. In 1972, to deal with the constant growing demand, Lucien’s son, Bernard PETIT, current managing director of la Trinitaine, then 25 years old, decided to build a factory of 2200m². This plant today covers 25000 m² and produces 60 tonnes of goods per day, ranging from wide choice of biscuits to madeleines, made with butter or vegetable oil. The rigorous selection of the raw materials, which must be totally natural, and of high quality, the follow up and the processing control, the strict respect of food safety, automated packaging, are ensured by men and women assisted by tools of production of high qualified technology. Each day, the PETIT family and their 90 employees work towards one objective: more quality to better satisfy the customer. This challenge was rewarded in 1986 by the award of the “Laurier d’or” (Golden Laurel) for quality and tradition. Alytus Cannery employs approximately 40 employees. In 2016 Alytus Cannery plant's had turnover of 3,072 EUR excluding value added tax (VAT).
Alytus Dairy, the manufacturing unit of the Company RIVONA, produces yoghurts, sour cream, milk, kefir, butter, curds and cheese curds, - altogether around 60 sorts of various dairy products. In 2014, the Company made the investment of LTL 1 million (289 thousand EUR) for the renovation of the existing equipment and acquisition of the new one. In 2016, the turnover of the Alytus Dairy totaled up to LTL 14,36 million EUR exclusive of the Value Added Tax. The Dairy produced 18,2 thousand tons of products. The FABRIDOCE - SWEET REGIONAL Ltd, was founded in 1989, in the middle city of Aveiro, the pastry is the main branch. Like many bakeries in the region of Aveiro, FABRIDOCE dedicated to the traditional sweets of the region, and the Soft Eggs brand image.
With the continuous improvement and increased production, FABRIDOCE moves in 1992, its facilities for the Industrial Zone of Cacia, which still stands today, and focus on production of various Portuguese convent desserts sweets.
The entry in 2000, FABRIDOCE products in supermarkets has led the company to be one of the pioneers in the region of Aveiro, to worry with the Food Safety System.

For more than 115 years, Aulds has been a familiar name, providing quality & fresh bakery products, on the High Streets of central Scotland – and more recently in the many shopping centres that continue to appear.
Founded in 1900 by Thomas Auld, the company was then taken over and lead by Thomas’ nephew Ian Marr in the 1950’s who went on to spend 65 years in the baking industry before his passing in 2013. In the late 1980’s the fourth generation of the Auld family joined the business with Ian’s children Fiona and Alan joining their father. Then in 1991 Alan took over from his father as Managing Director to lead the company.
Home of the twice World Pie Champion award winning Special Pie and the infamous Aulds Fudge Doughnut all of the baking is made fresh at the company’s bakery in Greenock, before being dispatched each and every day to the many retail outlets throughout central Scotland.
Aulds Group also boasts a state-of-the-art facility at Inchinnan where Aulds Delicious Desserts manufactures a range of premium desserts for the foodservice market and have earned an enviable reputation over 40 years for innovative desserts and quality of service

Over 65 years ago my father had a bakery in the centre of Shrewsbury. It was locally famous for its wonderful artisan breads, morning goods and speciality cream cakes. Ahead of his time he invited bakers to demonstrate their skills to his staff from both Switzerland and Denmark. These amazing cakes were made in the bakery at the rear of the shop and sold fresh from the oven to his customers.
I started my training as a chef and then went to work for my father and carried out my training under these skilled bakers. I had a passion for making desserts and wanted to use these skills to make only high quality products but on a larger scale. Over 35 years ago my opportunity came up as a small run down factory unit came to the market. It was on a very large green-field site, in a beautiful mid Wales valley with views to Long Mountain and the world renowned National Trust Powis Castle. After much hard work to get the factory up to a good standard our first in line pie machine was installed. The engineer suggested altering the recipes to suit the machine. He was told in no uncertain terms that his machine had to work with our recipes and not the other way around! That principle has now remained in place for over 35 years!
My wife originally set up and ran the laboratory, testing our ingredients coming in and our products going out with this attention to detail being almost unheard of at the time for a factory of that size. Again a principal we have maintained to this very day!
Over these years we have remained at the forefront of development, only using the highest quality ingredients and using the best traditional production methods to achieve the high standard of products for our very discerning customers.
I firmly believe it is the confidence our customers have had in our ability to produce high quality hand finished products combined with the fantastic team that we have developed over the years that has enabled us to grow to the size we are today

In 1959, Alfredo Barbosa left his rural farming life to start working in Oporto.
