VECCHIA CANTINA DI MONTEPULCIANO is the oldest cooperative in Tuscany. Founded in 1937 on the initiative of 14 pioneering producers, its production history began in 1940 with the first bottling. Having survived the difficult years of the Second World War and the land reorganisation of the 1950’s, the Winery operated through the 60’s and 70’s as a true, driving force throughout the entire territory, a role that it maintains today.
Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano is comprised of about 400 members (for a total of about 1,000 hectares of vineyards and 5,000,000 bottles produced), who have chosen to combine their passion and respect for the land and work together for a common purpose – guaranteeing the continued production of quality products at affordable prices.
The emblem on Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano’s crest is a winged lion rampant. This is an icon of phantasy born of the union between the “gryphon rampant”, an ancient mythological symbol that evokes the long history of the Comune of Montepulciano from its Etruscan origins, and the “lion”, an emblem of the Florentine nobility, which had a profound influence on the life of Montepulciano, both in terms of public administration and architecture, and town planning during the 15th and 16th centuries.

Château de Berne benefits from the perfect amount of sunshine, wind and rain for wine growing. The cool evenings of the inland Haut Var ensure slow and optimal grape ripening. The grape harvest therefore takes place later than on the coast (generally from mid-September onwards). Measuring 330 acres, the Château de Berne terroir is situated on the Triassic Plateau, resting on a chalky bed dating back to the lower and middle Jurassic period.
This mainly chalky terroir, perfect for growing numerous grape varieties, gives the wines their refreshing, mineral taste. Château de Berne regularly uses around ten grape varieties including: Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Sémillon, Ugni-Blanc, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Rolle and Mourvèdre.

The Val-Dieu abbey beers were inspired by the brewing traditions of the monks. For many centuries beer was a trusted alternative to the not-very-reliable drinking water that caused illnesses such as cholera. Throughout the years, monks have greatly enhanced our knowledge of the brewing process.
Their know-how was translated into recipes that inspire brewers up to this day.
A characteristic of the Val-Dieu beers is their use of soft water. Unlike most abbeys, the monks here do not source their water from a well or spring, but from Lake Gileppe, a freshwater, artificial lake.
It is worth nothing that this area is renowned for the quality of its water, and is home to the well-known springs at Spa (the original spa resort), Bru and Chaudfontaine. All of these are within a 30-kilometre radius from the abbey.
The abbey’s top-fermented beers are created using the traditional infusion method, where warm water is gradually added to the mash until the desired 75°C temperature is achieved. At this point, the starch is released, which in the next stage will be converted into sugars that will feed the yeast. No herbs or other aromatics are added to the mother beers: blond, dark and tripel.
The beers will then undergo their main fermentation using a house yeast that is cultivated within the brewery. This yeast typically gives fruity aromas, often with a hint of banana.
All Val-Dieu beers re-ferment in the bottle. For re-fermentation, a different yeast is used that does not affect either the aroma or the taste.
The beers are given plenty of time to develop their alcohol volume as well as their complex taste and aromas. The entire production process takes six to eight weeks. The re-fermentation in the warm chamber alone, accounts for three weeks.

Heimat Gin is a dry gin that is tenderly hand-made and distilled. We are focussed on using regional herbes of our own meadow orchards.
We are three guys, Marcel, Rouven and Raphael and good friends since our youth. We all lived on the countryside surrounded by orchards and vineyards. And gin has been a constant companion of our common evenings for years. So one thing led to the other and we started working on a recipe of our own gin.
Our aim was getting the taste of our homeland into the bottle. Therefor our manufacture is based on handpicked botanicals like meadow sage, thyme and plantain as well as apples and pears harvested on our own meadows. All in one there are 18 different botanicals in one black earthenware bottle.
Enjoy our Heimat Gin pure or mixed with a classical herb Tonic Water. Especially the Mediterranean Tonic Water of the brand Fever Tree or the classical one of the brand Thomas Henry build an excellent composition with our gin.
Rosemary, thyme or cucumber suit perfectly as inserts, depending on each one’s taste.

StrawZ started at the end of 2018 with the mission "Reducing the ecological footprint in the hospitality industry". We initially started this with the introduction of our Hay! Straws in Europe. A sustainable, 100% compostable and organic alternative for plastic, PLA, bio-based and paper straws. Our straws are just the first effort to make the hospitality industry more sustainable, we are working on our next projects which are ecological and biological coffee cups and cutlery.

The story starts in 1545 with a man named Joos Roman. He owned an inn named “De Clocke” in Mater, a submunicipality of Oudenaarde. This bed and breakfast avant la lettre was located along the Franco-German trade route. Roman owned an inn, a farm, a mill, a malthouse and a brewery of course. At the time, beer brewing was just one of the many activities that took place here. Over time, as the next generations took the helm, beer became the family’s main activity.
The current, imposing buildings and courtyard date from 1930. Around this time, the Roman brewery was also incorporated, becoming a private limited company. Just before WWII, the brewery hit its peak, with the sale of “Oudenaarde Brown” beer, the perfect regional product. After 1945, the brewery focused on rebuilding the market it had lost during the war years. The introduction of Romy Pils created new opportunities.
Under Louis Roman the brewery gradually transformed from a company that (mainly) produced Pilsner beer into a brewery with a diverse range of speciality beers. Balanced beers which are popular with wide audience of beer lovers, beers that also regularly win awards in competitions. With the launch of Sloeber (1983), the Ename Abbey beers (1990), Mater white beer (1993), Black Hole (2005) and Gentse Strop (2011), Adriaen Brouwer Organic beers (2018), Ramon - Alcohol free beer (2019), a new wind is clearly blowing in the brewery.

Only 4% of the vineyard is planted with black grape varieties (Pinot Noir, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon).
The Murfatlar branch offers wines from a hotter climate from international varieties (white: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Pinot Grigio, Riesling Italico and black: Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon) and indigenous varieties (Feteasca Regala and Feteasca Neagra). We are the leading producer of Valpolicella wines. We are the winery where Amarone was born one-century ago, thanks to the mistake of our winemaker, Mr. Adelino Lucchese. He forgot a barrel of sweet recioto wines in the warmest corner of our cellar. It went to the end of fermentation because of a full-bodied red wine with a slightly bitter taste due to the tannins' concentration.
At the moment, we are the biggest player on the market from this area of Appellation with 733 Hectares of vineyards controlled by us. No wine or grapes are outsourced.
The winery is located in the center of Valpolicella Appellation in a six floor villa dating back to the beginning of the 1900s.
Our "Appasimento room" center ( to make drier the bouches) it is at the moment the biggest one for the north of Italy with more than 1000 meters square.

Umeshu has undergone significant changes over the years, particularly in terms of the alcohol in which the ume are soaked to produce the final beverage.
